Most of us carry our past with us like luggage, thinking we need to remember every hurtful detail so as not to be hurt again. But that is counter-intuitive! What we are afraid of will persist, and if we concentrate on what we don't want, we will keep walking into it. The only smart way to walk forward each day is to empty our heads of woe and regret. And what good con possibly come from our future if we keep all thoughts on our past?
